Hi! My name is Caroline and I am the creator of Carelebeads. I make my own glass beads by melting rods of glass in the flame of a propane and oxygen fueled torch. I heat the rods of glass in the flame and then wind the molten glass around a steel welding rod, which creates the hole in the bead. I can move the glass when it is soft to create different shapes – round, square, oblong, heart, animal, or whatever I come up with . I add dots, lines, squiggles or any design I want. Several layers of glass can be added to a bead which will provide depth. I also have made some beads that were not made on a mandrel. They are a bit tricky but like all lampworking, once you get it, you get it. I use my glass beads in all of my products – jewelry, office products, kitchen and housewares. | The Requip’d Canada story began as two hockey dads continually watched expensive carbon hockey sticks being thrown in the trash. They asked this question; What could we do with these sticks instead of filling land fills? Over a pile of broken sticks inside a hot garage Hat Trick BBQ was born. Partnering with teams and manufacturers around North America they began upcycling thousands of hockey sticks into unique high quality BBQ sets and bottle openers made in Canada.
The line has grown to include other must have products for hockey players, fans, parents and those who simply love to BBQ. The story continues to grow as Requip’d is now expanding their “green” solution to other sports including baseball and lacrosse.
