Canadian Made Canned Salmon
Fishing flows through our veins. Founded by a multi-generation fishing family on the West Coast of Canada, Raincoast Trading believes that sustainable seafood can and should be accessible, and canned wild seafood can be mind-blowing, eye-opening, and uber-delicious.
Since 2013, Raincoast Trading has been part of St. Jean’s Cannery and Smokehouse in BC, which had been its principal packer. Our wild fish are chosen for quality & sustainability, prepared with care, and packed for convenience. Our Pacific albacore, sockeye salmon, pink salmon, and sardines are staples of the West Coast diet. In our club, they are VIP: Very Impressive Protein. Our Raincoast Global skipjack tuna—from Maldives—is our newest sustainable tuna all-star in our lineup. Home run!
All you’ll find in our cans of wild tuna and wild salmon are wild tuna and wild salmon. Maybe a pinch of sea salt, if you are into that sort of thing. We’ll let other seafood companies fill their cans with oil—from us, you’ll just get seafood the way it was meant to taste.
St. Jean’s online and retail stores feature the very best wild smoked salmon, candied salmon, albacore tuna, smoked oysters, and hand-packed canned seafood on the the west coast including canned salmon made In Canada. We also produce specialty products such as marinades, red pepper jelly, spice mixes, and antipasto–and our ornate gift baskets and wooden gift boxes are popular year-round gifts which include a wide range of our gourmet seafood products.

At Mad Dog Crabs Scott has been commercial fishing for over 20 years on BC’s coast. It was only natural that his wife would join him on the boat, but as the commercial life at sea became more challenging, Katie, along with their young girls started selling crab then fish at the local farmers market in Duncan on Saturdays.
The market turned out to be resoundingly successful, which of course led to musings about establishing a seafood shop in town… and thus was born Mad Dog Crabs Seafood Market! Serving the community’s seafood needs for over a decade. Mad Dog Crabs has become one of the most popular seafood stores on Vancouver Island. Part of the canned salmon made in Canada directory.
The Haida people of Canada’s West Coast historically presented gifts of food in decorated cedar boxes. Designed in this tradition, SeaChange wooden gift boxes display a silk-screened Haida graphic by an internationally acclaimed Haida artist, Don Yeomans. The box contains a gold foil pouch of wild smoked sockeye salmon, which is truly an impressive gift presentation of Canadian smoked salmon at the Dockside Smoked Fish Store Tofino.
The salmon in this box has been cooked until moist and tender. It will last without refrigeration until opened and can simply be served with plain crackers! It is available in 113g – 4oz or 227g – 6oz or 454g – 16oz. Furthermore, smoked salmon pate is also available in gift boxes and is 100g per tin box or a pack of three in a cedar box.
