As far back as I can remember, I sewed, made diy with recycled material and did a lot of tinkering, instead of playing with dolls like most girls my age. I used to say I was born with a pair of scissors in his hands, but with time, were added hammers, spikes, etc., because yes, I also tinker wood and material recovery. I also built with furniture recovered a huge dollhouse for my granddaughters. But that’s another story (smile)So, to return to our subject, I hope you will appreciate my collection of medieval-inspired clothing and Canadian made costumes, and you will enjoy to wear, whether for parties, weddings, reenactment or costume balls.

Dreampower began in 1988, from the vision and creativity of Shari Woods. Shari is the mother of five (now all grown up) creative children. Shari understood the important role of imaginative play in kids lives and development.
Shari designed and hand-sewed her first costume masterpieces for her own children. They received such praise and interest from other kids and their parents, that she quickly saw the demand for her unique costume designs. Dreampower was an immediate hit!
In 1996, after graduating with a degree in Fine Arts, daughter Sarah joined the Dream-life! Now, Sarah is the mother of two, Maya and Mason. They provide a great deal of inspiration. Shari and Sarah use the finest fabrics, and original designs to create heirloom quality, everyday-wearable dress-up clothes. Dreampower costumes are sold online, at craft shows, and at the studio in Waterloo by appointment.
In March 2019, Philip Sparks Tailored Goods celebrated 12 years in business. We have accomplished a lot over the past decade, including the production of luxury men’s-wear collections sold at retailers such as Holt Renfrew and La Maison Simons, and design collaborations with the Hudson’s Bay Company, Danier Leather, Town Shoes and Opticionado. Philip Sparks has been named the top men’s-wear designer in Canada by the Toronto Star and a designer on the rise by Forbes magazine, with additional features appearing in The New York Times, Sharp Magazine and Toronto Life.
We make all of our garments in house. Our workroom is part of our showroom so you can experience the craft behind our garments first hand. Because we make it all right here, we can quickly take care of small alterations while you wait (possibly with a glass of bourbon or rye, a flip through our vintage record collection or a visit from our studio cat, Sofia).
