Canadian Made Eggs
The Hudson family has been at Burnbrae Farms for over 70 years. In that time, our Burnbrae Farms family has grown into a much larger group of passionate farmers and employees who remain dedicated to supplying eggs to all Canadians. Part of the eggs made in Canada directory.
Steve Easterbrook focuses on his core passion – the farming side – continuing to produce Rabbit River Farms brand eggs made in Canada, spending more time with the hens and ensuring that the highest quality products and humane husbandry standards are maintained in all our Rabbit River Farms local flocks. Steve will continue to advocate Canada’s leadership role in Cage-Free egg production as well as give public tours on our family farm.

Since 2011, our small family farm has grown into 4 acres of vegetable, herb, poultry and egg production. The health of the soil relies on a symbiotic relationship with the chickens, turkeys, and crops that share the garden space. The garden is nurtured using certified organic and ecologically conscious methods (PACS #16-770).
We use environmentally friendly systems such as drip irrigation, composting, green manures & reusable materials. We minimize waste and off farm inputs & use of petro powered machinery. All of our starts are grown plastic free – using soil blocks. We use certified organic seed when available & never use treated or GMO seed. We live simply & off grid.
Bart Bounds, steward of the farm, is joined by his partner, Kate Mechan, and their children Juniper and Fray. Eager friends, staff, and volunteers all help to support the farm and keep it running smoothly. Our produce can be found at the Fireweed Community Market, purchased through our CSA box program, and is used in several local restaurants in Whitehorse.
At Crystal Green Farms we, Brian & Kathy (your farmers) have been together since 2008 but in 2015 we got married here at the farm, with family and friends with us to enjoy the day. We both come from family farm backgrounds and enjoy working together and living our passion, farming! For us organic farming is not just a job, it’s a way of life.
We find it both challenging and rewarding, and hope that we can make some difference in the local community, one family at a time. We have become not only their farmers to many, but along with that have created a connection that is very heartwarming. As we meet up with folks on a weekly basis, we see the little ones growing up and become a little part of the lives of those we serve. The farm started with 12 cows and grew, at its peak having 100+ cows. The Van Herk family as well as the previous owner raised pigs, grew turnip and potatoes in the early years.
In 1975 electricity was installed in the house and more extensively in the barns. The dairy industry along with the raising of beef and dairy heifers became the main focus. The last warehouse was built in 1990, and the property continues to undergo redevelopments. Brian and Kathy hope to restore the homestead and offer it as a farm stay for visiting families some time in the future.
Sunworks Farm is the home of Ron and Sheila Hamilton located near Armena, Alberta. We are guided by our values and strongly believe in the principals of organic and holistic agriculture, as well as the importance of ethical/humane handling of all creatures, including our farm animals.
Apparently, everything. In the case of Elman’s the name represents a 70 year tradition of superior quality and great taste. The history of Elman’s begins with Samuel Finkleman, who emigrated with his family from Poland with closely guarded recipes and a pocket full of dreams. This was the start of a famous family-run business.
With his wagon filled with jars of horseradish prepared in the basement of his home, the enterprising young “Happy” Finkleman (as he became known to everyone) was soon making deliveries to local markets and hoteliers. We currently service our customers from Winnipeg to the Interlake and West to Vancouver with future plans for expansion into Eastern Canada as well as the United States.
