Cedar Creek Fish Farm is located at C233- 12th Concession, North of Shawville, Qc. This aquaculture business is owned and operated by Cory and Laura Thomas. Both Rainbow and Speckled Trout are raised on this location. These fish are raised for restocking freshwater systems from fall to spring, and for supplying markets with fresh trout year round. The production cycle starts at the egg stage. Trout eggs (seen in photo) are placed in special baskets and within a couple of weeks the eggs will hatch into fry (small fish). Products:

In the Fall of 2016, a local fish plant became available on the market, and Chef Barnard and his team moved in. From there they began to develop relationships with the local First Nations fishermen, and expand overall operations. Today Freshwater Cuisine works in partnership with over 45 independent fishermen who supply them with 100% wild caught fish. Freshwater Cuisine is now the largest operating fish processing facility in Northwestern Ontario, supplying the region with freshwater fish fillets, Walleye Wings, Northern Pike Cakes and so much more. Pine View Farms is owned by Kevin and Melanie Boldt & Family and has been in operation since 1998. We are fourth generation family farmers. Kevin’s Great Grandfather settled on this yard in 1901 with his wife and 18 children. Our family continues the tradition of growing food for the community (but not the 18 kids part!). Many things have changed in the last 100+ years, but one thing has not. That is, no matter who you are or where you are in life, you deserve the simple pleasure of eating good food, grown well. We believe that it’s important to know where your food comes from and how it was produced.
