Nestled in the mountains near Whistler BC, I started my “reusables” business Anise & Dill Reusable Products Dec, 2019. I wanted to help people eliminate plastics from their life and make the switch from plastics to fabrics (my favourite!). I have a BFA in Textiles and spent the last 20 years exploring fabrics, clothing design, natural dyeing and felting (www.francesfelt.com).

When the pandemic hit Canada in March 2020 I quickly got going making masks for my community. I was worried about all the frontline workers and figured the best way for them to stay safe was to protect themselves with a mask. Soon many people were reaching out and I couldn’t keep up with the sewing. I had worked thru all my own personal fabric stash and luckily for me my small town has a fabric store! I ended up buying all my mask fabrics from that wonderful lady. She was so happy for my business during lockdown and I couldn’t have done it without her help. It was a win win situation! I started hiring some amazing ladies in my community to help me sew and put my kids (Anise and Dylan) to work while they were out of school during lockdown!
