The shop name “Double Portrait” by Laura Inksetter was inspired by a painting by the Master of the Housebook titled “Pair of Lovers” (ca. 1480)
Although I can’t pinpoint the exact moment I knew I wanted to be an artist, I have a strong feeling that my love of art grew gradually out of an early obsession with the Disney movie “Fantasia.” It has everything I could ever want in a movie: flying horses, fairies, dancing ostriches, and dinosaurs. I used to sit in front of the TV, trying to sketch all the different characters using crayon on crinkly lined paper.
