Years in the making the brewery was completed in August 2014, with our first Fat Unicorn Brewery product delivered in the spring of 2015. I built the brewery with a very nice setting on my ranch in the Lac La Biche County approx. 5 km south of our home town Plamondon (Approximately 24 km West of Lac La Biche). The brewery is a destination brewery with a tasting room and Growler filler bar, we also have scheduled Brew Master openings throughout the year.
I started making beer as a hobby and over the years as time and finances allowed I started to look for a proper brew system, at the same time the beer seen in Alberta was growing. The idea was to have a 2 or 3 BBL system and brew just as a hobby and see what opportunities come about, By the time I was finished shopping and designing a brew system I had build a new building and a brewery with a capacity of over 20,000 litre’s a month.
Our goal is not to make 10 or 15 different beers our goal is to make 5 or 6 very good beers, I brew my beers with basic fundamentals in mind, great flavour, great taste and a clean crisp finish, using natural ingredients with no additional sugars or flavoring chemicals.
