In 2020, Richard went looking for a probiotic to meet his post-workout needs. When he couldn’t find one he decided he to make one himself. After months of kitchen prototyping Richard had created the first bottle of Liven Protein Kefir. Donald joined the team to help build a brand and bring Liven to the market.
Last January, Liven converted a piece of the Antigonish Farmers’ Market kitchen into a specialty fermentation facility. Since then, they have been successfully selling in the market on Saturdays. “The Antigonish Farmers’ Market has been an essential foundation on which Liven has been able to grow,” they say.
