My name is Ciara (pronounced like Keir-ah) and I’m new grad RPN in Toronto, Canada and the creator of NYA Scrub Caps! The pandemic had brought many in the healthcare environment to wear scrub caps for protection and personally I found it really helpful to tame my hair with all the PPE and face shield action
The idea of including some personality and colour to my scrub outfit really began to brighten my day (and others). I found that the scrub caps I made to be a conversation starter during report and my patients loved them! We always see boring scrub caps with plain coloursand no real WOW factor to them and blah fabric that looks dull. I thought this was odd since the face is the most important aspect to healthcare workers and it’s where our patients look to for an encouraging smile during uncertain times in their life.
