Established in 2004, by husband and wife team Sean and Melissa Gorham, Urban Tree Salvage founded the live edge slab table movement in Canada. Our expertise in the industry and reputation for quality craftsmanship has led to projects with some of the largest brands in the world. We specialize in creating solid wood live edge slab tables, accessories and other furniture pieces for you home, office or cottage. We offer a very personalize shopping experience where we assist you in selecting your wood, finish and base design. All our material is sourced from permit felled Toronto trees, milled, kiln dried and turned into one of a kind creations. No part of their process is outsourced, ensuring high quality and competitive prices.
URBAN TREE SALVAGE® owns and operates sawmills, dry kilns, a woodshop and a metal shop, all housed on a few acres of land. No part of our process is outsourced, ensuring high quality and competitive prices. Each log we salvage is hand selected for quality and uniqueness. As urban trees are under stress due to the environment they have been growing in, many of our logs have beautiful figures or characters, such as curls, spalting, birdseye and quilting, to name a few. All our live edge material is salvaged from locally-felled permit-removed Toronto trees, so as not to encourage or create a market for logging or unnecessary removals.
