Hi! I’m Vicky, and I am so excited to welcome you to Little Blue Canoe and introduce myself as it’s new owner. I cannot fully explain my excitement to be starting my own journey with Little Blue Canoe. Much like myself, LBC was born and raised in Calgary, AB but has moved out east to the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. I am so excited to bring the coasts together and continue to find unique Canadian makers across Canada. We originally launched in 2015, fittingly on Canada Day. It was built on a passion for drawing in Canadian makers and designers to build on a true essence of being Canadian. A genuine love for Canada is what LBC stands for. Now 3+ years after LBC’s initial launch, with that same passion and love for Canada and Canadian made goods, I am humbled to have the opportunity to continue to build on this amazing foundation. My name is Ciara (pronounced like Keir-ah) and I’m new grad RPN in Toronto, Canada and the creator of NYA Scrub Caps! The pandemic had brought many in the healthcare environment to wear scrub caps for protection and personally I found it really helpful to tame my hair with all the PPE and face shield action The idea of including some personality and colour to my scrub outfit really began to brighten my day (and others). I found that the scrub caps I made to be a conversation starter during report and my patients loved them! We always see boring scrub caps with plain coloursand no real WOW factor to them and blah fabric that looks dull. I thought this was odd since the face is the most important aspect to healthcare workers and it’s where our patients look to for an encouraging smile during uncertain times in their life. Products:

| In 2014, Sarah Beaudoin, Founder and President, launched Gibou after getting praised for the original design she created in an effort to answer her need for a warm yet fashionable hat that could make the freezing Canadian winter days enjoyable. This style went on to become the “Classic” and is still at the core of the company’s offering with different colorways and various recycled fur pompom options. This enterprise also allowed Sarah to further explore her passion for knitting and share it with the Gibou community.
From the very beginning, it was adamant that everything we undertook would have to reflect the company’s values through three essential aspects: local manufacturing, the use of recycled fur exclusively and the upcycling of noble materials. Products:

| Back in December of 2016, I decided to teach myself to crochet from the internet. Well YouTube videos became my best friend as sometimes just reading instructions didn’t make sense. It didn’t take too long when people started to tell me I was a natural and had picked up on it so quickly. Crocheting has now become my happy place and it makes me so happy when someone messages me after receiving their item and they tell me how much they love it.
Now, my shoulder is suffering from some degeneration so I decided to look at what else I enjoy doing, well I discovered Cricut.
