My Pattison Fine Woodworking studio has a 30 plus years history of creating and building not the status quo but pieces that are unique and one of a kind. It is my attention to the fine details that complete the artistic craftsmanship and upon completion allow these pieces to be timeless and in some cases, family heirlooms. Please explore not only the visual presentment of both the woodworking projects and musical instruments but as well music featured here performed on some of my instruments. I have been around high quality woodwork my entire life, literally, beginning with the teachings of my father who still creates fine pieces in his workshop. I have been a builder of custom pieces full time since 1979. As in my instrument sculpting it is my attention to the details along with adding originality to the project that again allow each piece to stand distinctively on its own. Products:

Paul E. Shier was born in Toronto, ON and now lives near Tweed, ON Canada and creates most of his art in the beautiful county of Central Frontenac. Most of his sculptures are done by hand carved from soapstone, He believes it brings more life into the art. He is self taught except for public and secondary school art classes. His art has been shown in many different setting around the world in many homes, art shows and galleries as well as world wide with respect to the internet. He has won many different ribbons and awards over the years with “Best in show” being the most prominent. The greatest award being the expressions on the faces of the people enjoying the particular piece of art, one older woman quite a few years ago has won first place in his mind and will be a treasured memory for ever. Carving wood by hand is a slow and repetitive process but at LUCUS Craft I get into a rhythm chipping away and love it. I work out of a fixed up old barn in the backyard on a little island in the east coast of Canada. I’m a self taught woodcarver and I’m interested in the patterns time creates.
